This sweet girl will be having major orthopedic surgery on Monday, 22 February.   We had scheduled it for back in 2020 but of course it was canceled when borders were closed and COVID became a threat in South Africa.

Her pain levels are such that we don’t feel we can postpone it any longer, so we will travel to Pretoria, South Africa this Sunday for the surgery on Monday.  It sounds like we can expect to be in the hospital around 4-5 days at least.

*Please pray for the trip there (about 4-5 hours) since she is having pain when her hip is flexed, travel and bumpy african roads are not going to be easy.

*Please pray for the surgical team, doctors and nurses to be able to provide the best possible care.

*I (Amy) will be allowed to stay with her in the hospital, and we think that Steve will be able to come visit sometimes also.  Otherwise, he will be staying in a guest house close by the hospital. Pray for wisdom in decision making and peace as we trust God for her health and safety, and also for safety from COVID exposure for all three of us.

*Pray that the people we come in contact with throughout this process will see Jesus in us and that we would be faithful to share His love with others as they see the “reason for the hope that we have”.

*Pray for sisters and family who can’t be there with us that they will have peace as they wait for us to bring her home.

We love you all and are so thankful for each of you.  For your prayers and words of encouragement and faithful support.
